When New York theatre impresario Tommy Burke asks Molly to help him take care of some family business back in Ireland, Molly is happy to oblige. Tempted by the prospect of going home for the first time in years (and putting her fledging detective agency on firm financial ground), Molly throws caution to the wind and climbs aboard the White Start Liner Majestic with hopes of sneaking on and off the isle without raising a peep. Until one passenger, who happens to be a famous Broadway actress goes missing—and another turns up dead. So much for smooth sailing….

Review Summary: I'm Confused
Review: I like the Molly Murphy series, however, this latest book was confusing to me. I don't understand why the person revealed as Rose's murderer would have killed her even if it was a case of mistaken identity and the victim should have been Molly. Why would this person (I don't want to name names) have killed Molly when he was following her so she would lead him to Tommy Burke's sister. Doesn't make any sense and ruined the whole book for me. Also, I thought the book ended abruptly and would have liked to know what was going to happen to Malachy.

Review: I am so glad I learned of the Molly Murphy series. I have enjoyed them all and this one did not disappoint. My ancestors came to this country from Ireland about the same time Mary did and I enjoy reading about what conditions were like for them through these books. But you don't have to be Irish to enjoy Mary's madcap adventures.
This one took her back to Ireland which was a nice change of pace. I look forward to reading the latest one now out.

Review: "In Dublin's Fair City" is definitely my favorite Molly Murphy mystery. Molly returns to Ireland to work on a case, but she meets Irish revolutionaries while she is in Dublin. The latter half of this book is all about the Irish fight for home rule, which has long been a subject of interest for me. Rhys Bowen exposes the hardships that many Irish citizens faced while England was ruling them, as well as the many women who fought for their voice to be heard in a new republic. I was thrilled when James Joyce, W. B. Yeats, & Maud Gonne made appearances. Thank you Mrs. Bowen for writing a book about the Irish struggle for freedom.

Review: Rhys Bowen never disappoints in this latest installment of the Molly Murphy series. As Molly returns to Ireland we find her in a fast paced adventure as she seeks to solve a case and help get her brother out of jail. This series is one of my favorites (along with Victoria Thompson). You will finish the book wishing that you knew these people.
